The two main species of French Oak are Quercus Robur and Quercus Petraea. These are prized for their high tannin content which results in their rich color. The base of these trees known as the “A” section is used for making wine barrels. The “B” and “C” sections are used for flooring and furniture. In my option, it’s the most beautiful oak for flooring.
